Breast Cancer Awareness month is an annual international health campaign organized by public service organizations, professional medical associations, and government agencies every October to increase awareness of the disease and to raise funds for research into its cause, prevention, diagnosis, treatment and cure. The campaign also offers information and support to those affected by breast cancer.
This year our Goldleaf Surety family has had several members affected by a diagnosis of breast cancer. To recognize their fight against this disease, Goldleaf held a Pink Out on Friday, October 25th. Food and celebration were the themes of the day. After months of doctors appointments, treatments, and travel, our staff wanted to share a day together in support of our co-workers and their families.
Goldleaf Account Specialist Brad Koosmann’s wife Noelle was diagnosed with Invasive Ductal Carcinoma (IDC) in January of this year. Since that time Noelle, Brad and their 3 children have made numerous trips to the Twin Cities for doctor’s appointments, chemotherapy, surgery and radiation. Through it all, Brad and Noelle have remained both positive and determined. One of Noelle’s staples on all her blog posts is the statement – The Future: Looks beautiful.
