Saturday, June 20, is World Juggling Day. According to the website holidayinsights.com, this day celebrates the skill of juggling and those talented people who can juggle many balls and objects at a time.
To help you celebrate World Juggling Day, here are a few fun and interesting facts about juggling we found on the Huffington Post website.
- Scarves are the easiest item to begin with when learning to juggle. (This I know because both of my children in their younger years tried their hand at juggling. Watching the VHS tape using scarves and “crisscross applesauce” repeatedly still haunts my dreams.)
- Considered the greatest juggler of all time, Enrico Rastelli (1896 – 1931) was able to juggle ten balls at once.
- Ancient Chinese warriors would show off to their enemies by juggling before battle.
- Juggling burns 280 calories an hour. (Seems like a lot of work for very little caloric burn!)
